A Need for Speed, with the Horsepower to Match

Purpose-built for in-vehicle applications, the VPC-5640S is equipped with four PoE LAN ports operating at 2.5GbE, providing a robust set of connections for conveniently installed, power-efficient peripheral cameras. These interfaces are complemented by an additional LAN port supporting Intel® I226-LM, also operating at 2.5GbE, alongside DB-9 and DB-15 ports for RS-232/422/485, isolated CANBus, and 8-bit digital I/O. This combination of PoE functionality and serial communication is complemented by the system’s 12th Gen Intel® Core processing, whose power facilitates process control and task execution functions suited to video surveillance applications.

Roadworthy, No Matter the Conditions

The VPC-5640S is designed for optimum functionality in the harshest environments, with a wide -40°C ~ 70°C temperature range and a 9V ~ 36V DC power input range featuring circuit protection and ignition delay on/off, helping to protect crucial data against failures caused by variations in environmental conditions and power-supply fluctuations. The VPC-5640S is also E-Mark certified, fanless, and offers MIL-STD-810H vibration and shock tolerance, making it well suited to operate reliably under the pressures commonly encountered in in-vehicle applications.

Navigating the Road from the Edge to the Cloud

The VPC-5640S provides ample storage options through a 2.5” HDD for SATA at 6Gb/s, together with NVMe support via its M.2 2280 M-Key. This foundation gives users greater freedom to develop applications that require data to be stored and processed at the Edge. The system also enables interconnectivity with other parts of the IoT ecosystem, supporting Wi-Fi through an M.2 2230 E-Key. It also accommodates two M.2 3052 B-Keys with dual SIM slots, allowing two 5G modules to be installed simultaneously and providing excellent Edge-to-Cloud capabilities, along with an additional two standalone SIM slots. These features make the VPC-5640S ideally suited to fleet management, further supported by onboard GPS, NEO-M9V & G-Sensor.
