The Neousys IGT-20 is an ARM-based Box PC and a fanless industrial IoT (Internet of Things) gateway for in-vehicle communication. Unlike a System on Module (SoM), which is commonly supplied as a barebone component, the IGT-21 is based on the AM3352 from Texas Instrument's Sitara AM335x family and is supplied as a ready-to-use system with Debian pre-installed. The industrial design of the IGT-20 provides compliance with common industrial certifications, including CE/FCC, shock, and vibration. Another feature distinguishing the IGT-20 from a SoM is its wider power-input range of 8 to 25 VDC, whereas a SoM typically accepts 5 VDC.
As an industrial IoT gateway for in-vehicle communication, the IGT-21 provides I/Os suitable for a wide range of industrial-grade sensors. It features one USB2.0 port, one 10/100M LAN port, two configurable COM ports (RS-232/422/485), and an optional CAN bus port. In addition to these ports, there are 4 built-in isolated digital input channels that accept discrete signals from various sensors, buttons, or switches. There are also four built-in isolated digital output channels for controlling actuators and indicators.
For communication, the IGT-20 features a mini PCIe slot and a USIM holder, allowing acquired data and system status to be transmitted through vehicle-to-vehicle communication (V2V) via 3G, 4G, or WiFi using a mini PCIe WiFi module. An opening on top of the IGT-21 allows users to mount the wireless module's SMA connector. For storage, the IGT-21 has dual microSDHC slots, one internal and one external. This design allows system and user data to be separated and can accelerate OS deployment for mass production. As a gateway, the IGT-21 can be operated without a keyboard or mouse using six programmable status LED indicators and two control buttons.
