CAN-to-Ethernet interface for remote network access

The Kvaser Ethercan Light HS is a CAN-to-Ethernet interface that, when connected via the Internet to a PC with Ethernet, enables remote access to CAN data from anywhere in the world. It facilitates implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) concept by allowing data from any CAN product or system to be sent over a corporate network or through the Cloud using Kvaser's standard API. The device can be configured with a static IP address and includes a factory-reset device for restoring the default DHCP settings at the press of a button.

• High-speed CAN connection (compliant with ISO 11898-2), up to 1 Mbit/s
• The Ethernet connection features auto-MDIX, automatically detecting and adapting to the Ethernet cable used
• Integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) — receives data and power through the Ethernet cable
• It can also receive power via CAN, allowing the Ethercan to be powered through devices such as our T-Cannector v2
• Small, lightweight and housed in a galvanically isolated plastic enclosure
• Fully compatible with J1939, CANopen, NMEA 2000R and DeviceNet
• Includes the Ethercan factory-reset device
• This device allows the Ethercan IP address to be reset to its factory default at the press of a button
